What materials are used in Delicora jewelry?

Every item at Delicora jewelry is made with gold filled, gold vermeil, or sterling silver materials. These metals contain qualities that allow for long lasting jewelry, and are free of nickel and lead. 

What is the difference between gold filled, gold vermeil, and sterling silver? 

Gold filled: Gold filled contains a layer of solid 14k gold over jeweler’s brass. This is a US industry standard that requires 1/20th  5% pure gold by weight. It is a regulated process that involves pressure bonding multiple layers of solid 14k gold with extreme heat over a core of high quality jeweler’s brass resulting in a durable, quality real gold product. Unlike gold plated materials, there is a real layer of 14K gold on the piece. This allows for a long lasting finish at an affordable price. 

Gold vermeil: Pronounced ver-MAY. Gold vermeil is sometimes confused with gold plating. While they do share a few similarities, there is a big difference in quality and durability.  Gold vermeil is a thick layer of gold derived from gold leaf or powder and sits over 925 sterling silver. Keep in mind that gold plated jewelry is a layer of gold leaf or powder over any type of metal - brass, tin, metal containing Nickel, etc. Delicora does not use gold plated materials.

Sterling silver: Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper. Copper is a pure alloy, and does not contain any nickel. We use nickel free sterling silver materials at Delicora. 

I have a Nickel allergy. Will Delicora jewelry irritate my skin?

When most people have allergies to metal, it is likely  because of nickel. Symptoms of nickel allergies can result in swelling, redness, itchiness and rashes. All the materials used at Delicora are nickel-free. Disclaimer: While all of our materials are free of nickel and most allergy cases are due to nickel, we understand that you may have a more severe allergy beyond that of nickel. Please be mindful of this when researching and shopping for jewelry.

How long will my Delicora jewelry last? 

With the utmost care, your jewelry could last for many years. Our gold filled pieces will be the longest lasting pieces as they contain a real layer of gold. Please note that sterling silver naturally goes through oxidation over time, meaning that the moisture in the air can react to the copper in sterling silver causing a change in darker color or patina. This can be avoided if you polish your jewelry with a dry cloth and store it in an air tight container keeping it out of moist environment. 

How should I take care of my Delicora jewelry?

Keep your jewelry dry and free of oils or moisture. Water and jewelry are an absolute no no! That is a tip for any of your jewelry. You should polish your jewelry with a dry cloth and store them in a dry cool place.

Where does Delicora ship?

We offer worldwide shipping at Delicora. Orders in the US receive Free Shipping. International shipping prices depend on where you are located, and the shipping speed you select. 

I just placed a Delicora jewelry order. When will I receive my item(s)?

Everything is shipped from our studio in CA. Orders placed at www.delicora.com may take up to 3 business days to ship. If your order is placed to be shipped in the United States, you should receive your item before 7 business days of placing the order. If your order is placed to be shipped outside of the United States, allow up to 30 business days to receive your order. On average international orders take ~15 days, but your package may go through additional shipping processes depending on where you live. Once your order is processed, you will receive a tracking notification via email where you can track your order. 

Is Delicora available at any stores? 

Yes! There are over 30 small to medium size retailers across that carry our line across the United States. Please keep in mind that designs are limited in these locations, and return policies are decided by the retailer. Visit our Retailers page at www.delicora.com to find one near you. 

 

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

 

What is the Delicora return policy? 

If you are not satisfied with your purchase you can return it within 7 days of purchase. Any product you return must be in the same condition it was received. Email us at returns@delicora.com to start the process.

If you would like to exchange your purchase, you may do so within 7 days of purchase. Any product you exchange must be in the same condition it was received. Email us at exchange@delicora.com to start the process.
