My Story: I was born and raised in San Diego, California, but thankfully my mom emphasized the importance of connecting with my roots, culture and family in the Philippines. During one of my trips there, I went with my church group to visit a place called Smokey Mountain. It was literally a huge mountain of trash, but at the top we were met with nothing but smiling faces, happy children and welcoming arms. It was a major culture shock for me as a Filipino American. Despite their living conditions, they were still welcoming and encompassed the bayanihan spirit-- always taking care of eachother.
I am most proud of being a Filipino-American entrepreneur who draws strength from my mother and ancestors to use that bayanihan spirit to lift and empower others.
Favorite Asian American Snack Brands: Is spam and rice considered a snack? LOL just kidding ... I grew up eating Dynasty shrimp chips and I can't say no to Pocky Sticks.
Favorite Asian American Fashion Brands: I applaud those who use their talented hands to create a Filipiniana- a beautiful, traditional dress worn by women in the Philippines.
Favorite Asian American Beauty Brands: Sunnies Face, Teal Botanicals, Glamnetic.
Favorite Delicora Made for Jade Piece: I love them all, especially because of the special connection to Sandra's grandma, but I'm enjoying the Thi Jade Beaded Hoops right now for a pop of color for Spring!
